Role Description

We are seeking a Key Account/Sales Executive to join our Sales & Business Development team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with our key accounts and Independent Garden Centre customers in the horticulture sector, driving sales growth, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Working closely with the retail sales director to co-ordinate group and independent allocations, attending ranging meeting preseason. Supporting and supervising the internal sales processing team in the absence of the sales director. Liaising with production on weekly stock availability and promotional stock timing. Processing group orders and allocations into sales order system.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Account Management:

Manage and nurture relationships with key accounts in the horticulture sector.

Understand and anticipate customer needs and provide tailored solutions to meet those needs.

Develop and implement account plans to achieve sales targets and grow the business.

2. Sales & Business Development:

Identify new business opportunities and potential clients within the horticulture industry.

Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth.

Negotiate preseason reserves with clients, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for the company.

3. Market Analysis & Strategy:

Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.

Analyses sales data and market insights to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance the company's market position in the horticulture sector.

4. Customer Service & Support:

Provide excellent customer service, addressing any issues or concerns raised by key accounts promptly and effectively.

Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of products and services to clients.

Act as a liaison between the company and key accounts, ensuring clear and open communication at all times.

Key Skills

A good understanding of Microsoft Excell/Word. Ability to create spreadsheets and manipulate data.

Good communication skills

Good time management and ability to work to critical deadlines.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative and drive.

Some horticultural knowledge but not essential.
